As an adolescent, I developed an affinity for colorful art. It was unusual and variegated paintings that visually excited me and captivated my attention more so than other academic subjects. Art transformed a black and white world to color; color was a language that made sense to me.
After studying majoring in Drama/Theater in college, I moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue my dream of becoming an actor. While in L.A., my survival day job was working in a distant family member's feather business which afforded me exposure to another facet of the television, film, and music industry.
After working for ten years in the feather business and procuring several roles in the TV & Film Industry as a SAG actor, I subsequently opened my own shop in feather merchandising & became known Worldwide. Over the years dying feathers for Taylor Swift, Disneyland, Carnivals Worldwide and other various television and movie productions.
While mixing colors in the dye vats, the swirling colors and unusual combinations took me on a "mind trip", currently I use acrylic paints to recreate this experience on canvas. My experimentation with the use of color is central to my work. I use expressive, smooth lines to make a visual impact with unconventional color patterns irrespective of traditional color theory and guidelines.
My art serves to explore a visual fantasy and imagination through unique shades hues and
tones.
